Our Board of Directors meets monthly to discuss pertinent issues pertaining to the Arizona Birth Network and the community.

Danielle Muns : President

Danielle is a mother of four boys with a strong passion for a birthing family’s right to be able to choose their care providers, and make decisions that they feel are safest for their family, without fear of persecution or judgment.  She is involved in community efforts to bring awareness about local current maternity care issues.  Danielle is also a nursing student with a goal to provide supportive maternity care to women in a hospital setting.

Leigh Steele: Vice President

Leigh is mother of three and currently serves the community as a birth doula with Desert Moon Doulas.   During all three of her children’s births, she discovered a sense of empowerment and authenticity that led her to become an advocate for birthing women.   She also serves as editor for the Arizona Birth Connection newsletter and is proud to bear witness to the diverse voices of women in this publication.

Michelle Hottya: Treasurer

Michelle is a Doula and breastfeeding advocate. She is also a writer, editor and mother of three.

Jenny Dubisar: Secretary

Jenny is a mother of one and family chiropractor with a passion for healthy pregnancies and empowered women giving birth. Jenny coordinates the website updates, the voicemail, and the Azbirthnetwork@gmail.com email account. Please direct your updates/ concerns in these areas to her!
